Tencent Yuanqi is closing: how can an existing agent continue?

From November 9, Yuanqi agents will stop replying through channels such as WeChat Official Accounts. Official guides distinguish saving materials, rebuilding the agent and reconnecting its channels.

The Yuanqi team dated its notice October 8; the export and ADP guides were updated October 10. This reading uses official material checked October 11 and guide images, without exporting user data or performing a migration.

Three dates change three different things

The October 8 notice says Yuanqi closes November 9, affecting its website, API and agents published to WeChat channels. An agent appearing in a familiar chat entry does not make its runtime independent of Yuanqi.

Separate feature access, service operation and data retention
DateOfficial changeMeaning for existing users
From October 29, 2026New-agent creation and API-key distribution stop. The notice says existing agents remain usable until closure.
November 9, 2026The service closes; external channels stop replying too.Continuing service requires another configured and connected runtime.
From January 9, 2027Export requests stop and user-data deletion begins, except legally retained records.Finish backups beforehand; retention does not extend the agent’s operation.

Save the materials, including conversations

The export guide separates conversations under application operations, knowledge documents/Q&A, workflows under More, and self-built Widgets. Identify what your agent uses, then back up the corresponding materials.

A separate export console is planned for the post-closure period through January 9; its opening remains unannounced. Saving a conversation file does not by itself restore the old context or long-term memory in a new agent.

Reusable modules and settings to rebuild

The ADP guide supports importing knowledge bases, workflows and Widgets exported from newer Yuanqi. Model, prompt, tool, greeting and example-question settings—and custom tools—need manual setup. Legacy workflows cannot currently be exported; rebuild their logic and upload legacy knowledge again.

Official models and plugins differ between the platforms, so the guide calls for supported replacements and another preview. Reusable material still needs a configured agent to use it.

Yuanqi’s guide shows workflow management, highlighting Export in the More menu and a successful-export notice from its example.

Official Account replies and multi-channel workflows differ

For article-based replies in Official Account private messages, Tencent lists AI replies with a 10,000-follower minimum and automatic article sync. It supports tone and greeting setup, but not model choice, workflows, custom tools, Widgets or multiple channels.

For workflows, tools or multi-channel service, examine ADP. It does not automatically sync historical Official Account articles; the guide requires manual import and an applied knowledge base. Match the route to the agent’s existing job.

Make one familiar task work again

Our suggested check is one familiar question and workflow after import and setup: inspect its supporting material, tool use and result. It connects a transferred file with a working task.

Channels need republishing. ADP says a WeChat-platform account binds to one agent; unbinding interrupts service, and a channel activates only after publication. Verify the replacement before planning the switch. An export-success notice does not establish restored replies.

Allowances and backup windows have limits

The guide lists basic ADP trial allowances and migration vouchers. Offer rules run through October 31 for verified Tencent Cloud China primary accounts, excluding collaborators and subusers; discounted renewal is not promised. Check your account’s eligibility, allowance and stock. We claimed and paid nothing.

Start with one knowledge base, workflow and set of settings. Save them, then configure, test and publish for their intended use. Backups retain materials; a transition restores operation and user access. The notice provides a window in which to restore existing tasks in these steps.
