Data does only the job it needs to do.

When you save or read an item, adjust preferences, add a note or create a custom item, the site stores that state in localStorage. It does not sync across devices or create an account profile.

Clear site data for bitshovel.site to remove the complete local workbench state. If storage is unavailable, the interface says so and does not pretend a change succeeded.

Under Saved → Backup and restore, you can download your saves, notes, custom items, preferences and reading history as a local file. Restoring reads and merges the file in this browser without uploading it to a server. Backups may contain private notes; keep them safe. Clearing site data does not delete files you have downloaded.

The current intake accepts a public HTTPS page or one sentence. It rejects localhost, private network addresses, credentialed links, and other protocols. A custom source remains on this device and is not sent to a fetching service.

“Saved” therefore does not mean “synced.” Server-side processing begins only after an explicit connection and a newly stated data boundary.

The current site code contains no advertising tracking, marketing pixel, cross-site identity, or first-party analytics events. Pages, styles, images, and public content load through ordinary web requests.

Hosting, network, and security providers may retain necessary access and security logs under their policies. BitShovel currently does not turn those baseline logs into a user profile.

Text in Corrections and feedback is prepared on the current page and is not uploaded or saved by the site. Copy feedback writes to your system clipboard. Open email draft passes the previewed content to your email app for you to review and send. We read received emails to address feedback, and email providers process mail under their own policies. Private notes, saves and reading history are not automatically included.

Every external link requires your action and opens a new page. The destination may apply its own cookie, account, analytics, and logging policies. A source link exists for traceability and does not imply partnership, approval, or endorsement.
