PRIVACY / MINIMUM DATA
Privacy
Updated July 18, 2026
BitShovel has no accounts, comments, or payments and aims to process only the minimum data required for explicit product features.
Language preference
Switching languages writes a locale cookie containing only zh or en for up to one year.
Anonymous browser identifier
The site creates a random UUID locally to count unique visitors and 30-day active users. It is not derived from device fingerprinting, lasts for at most 90 days, and resets when you clear this site's browser data.
Anonymous product events
The site may record event type, content identifier, page path, locale, session identifier, and bounded campaign labels to understand which material is useful. Names, email, demo input, and other free text never enter these events.
Feedback and recommendations you submit
The form stores submission intent, category, usefulness or recommendation rating, text, related page, and anonymous browser identifier. Product recommendations may include public product names and URLs. Do not include names, email addresses, or other personal information. Submission text is not published.
Event retention
Anonymous events are retained only when analytics storage is enabled. Without it, no persistent event record is created. Fault reports are handled separately from reading events.
Product demos
Demo content exists only on the current page and is neither saved nor uploaded. Local page state disappears when browser data is cleared.
Email subscriptions
When email subscriptions open, the address is passed to the delivery service only for BitShovel updates and is not separately stored here. Confirmation, retention, and unsubscribe terms appear with the service.
External sites
Source and product links leave BitShovel. Those sites process data under their own policies, which BitShovel cannot control.
Clearing this site's browser data resets the anonymous identifier. Every email update includes an unsubscribe path. This page changes whenever the way data is handled changes.
