Your executable is a SQLite database: the SELF prototype goes public
Farid Zakaria (author of sqlelf) publishes SELF, the Structured Executable & Linkable Format: not a database describing an executable, but the executable being a SQLite database itself — chmod +x runs it, while SQL can query its own symbols and dependencies. The post retraces the path from his PhD exploration to the prototype, and argues LLM tooling makes queryable binaries worth building again. Surfaced through the Lobsters front page (25 entries in the current feed).
Performance claims and feasibility come from the creator self-report and prototype code, not an independent review; ranking on Lobsters is community attention and is not proof the approach works. The write-up is in English.

THE FULL RECORD · Full timeline
3 events retained by the site.
This object’s records stay together across live coverage, the watch pool and history. Every event links to its source record; corroboration and material changes have separate labels.
Dates use Beijing time. Open an event for its full record, original source and evidence. Corroboration adds support without counting as a material change.
