GPT-6 Astra: The next generation in intelligence for work
Astra’s enterprise introduction focuses on existing applications and concrete files: gather material, inspect documents and build presentations, with administrators controlling access to sites and apps.
Continue work in existing applications
OpenAI says Astra in ChatGPT Work and Codex can write code and operate applications without APIs. Announced enterprise plugins include Oracle Analytics, Power BI, Navan and Avalara, connecting familiar reporting, travel and tax software.
Examples include finding discrepancies in financial documents and producing presentations in a company’s style. A demo builds slides about a fictional GPT-Gaia model from a few template slides; GPT-Gaia is part of that fictional example.
Consider the output and the allowed access
OpenAI describes editing three hours of multicamera footage into a launch video and fixing a memory-allocation bottleneck in a test environment. These are company-reported tasks, not a fixed saving for every workload.
Administrators can restrict approved websites and desktop apps, manage uploads, downloads and browsing history, and require confirmation for consequential actions. Enterprise enablement follows the applicable agreement and rate card; the announcement says access was off by default at launch.
