iFLYTEK’s ¥999 magnetic recorder adds transcripts and meeting notes to phone recordings

ITHome reported on September 18 that iFLYTEK’s AI recording card was listed on JD.com for ¥999. The 4 mm, approximately 33 g device attaches magnetically to the back of a phone and displays recording information on its screen. Listing images describe automatic switching between phone-call and in-person recording modes.

The product offers transcription, AI summaries and action-item extraction, turning captured conversations into meeting records. The listing also advertises dialect recognition, translation across ten foreign languages and sharing across devices.

The free transcription offer changes over time. The product image lists unlimited transcription in the first year, 1,800 minutes per month in years two and three, and 300 minutes per month from year four. Those later allowances equal 30 hours and five hours per month, respectively. Frequent meeting users should account for that change.

The reviewed materials do not establish overage prices, connectivity requirements for transcription and summaries, or how recordings are processed. These conditions cannot be inferred from the AI recorder label.

The card has 16GB of storage, one bone-conduction microphone and three omnidirectional microphones, with advertised battery life of up to 30 hours. The manufacturer claims pickup at up to eight metres and transcription of a two-hour recording in about two minutes. These are product claims rather than our measurements; noisy rooms and overlapping speakers remain important real-world tests.
