Understand BitShovel in three steps.
A one-page orientation for first-time readers: what this is, how to read it, where content comes from, and how the management works. The full scoring and decision formulas live on the method page.
01
HOW TO READ
Three steps: read the focus → open the thread → pull the record.
The homepage is a workbench, not a feed: up to three focus picks at a time, replaced when something better arrives. The day’s cumulative selections can exceed three; Everything today holds up to ten, and the complete selection record remains in the day archive.
- Read the focus: up to three picks show what matters most right now. There may be fewer or none when nothing qualifies; the scoring formula is public on the method page.
- Open the thread: expand any card — the change timeline, market contrast, and the keep/watch/retire reasoning all live inside.
- Pull the record: every product line and version has its own full tracking page (from the tracking page); the past sits in the archive, weekly, and monthly.
02
THE WORDS
The key terms, one sentence each.
The workbench doesn't hide its own vocabulary — and every word has a precise meaning:
- Verification: Every update re-checks each tracked story at its original source. When nothing changed, verification is a status stamp — it never enters the change timeline.
- Receipt: The workbench publishes its own bookkeeping for you to audit: how many source records are under watch, this week's keep/watch/retire verdicts, and the reasoning behind them.
- Watch pool: After seven days with nothing worth noting, a story rotates out of the live window into a 30-day watch pool. The archive keeps the full thread, and a returning object reconnects to its line.
- Market lateral: Market moves about peers of the same class (price actions, benchmark comparisons, releases). Cards feature at most two named laterals; the full record lives on the object's tracking page.
- Focus scoring: Focus seats are not editorial taste: material changes, fresh discoveries, market density, vertical activity, and official evidence add published weights; yesterday's picks and same-class repeats deduct. The formula is public on the method page.
- Keep / watch / retire: Every live card gets a daily verdict against fixed thresholds: ≥2 self changes or ≥3 market events in 7 days keeps it; some activity below thresholds means watch; double silence feeds rotation. Each verdict's reasoning is public on the card and its tracking page.
03
SOURCES
A dozen public sources, with each link’s purpose explained.
Feeds, direct collectors, and community signals run every 3 hours (Beijing time). We prioritize locating the original source; check the card’s source notes for the specific scope of support. Aggregator entries may remain as discovery or relay pages. Official facts require checking at the source; rankings and community heat enter only as attention signals and never lead the focus. The full source list is public on the sources page.
04
MANAGEMENT
Retirement is management, not deletion.
Every live card gets a daily verdict against fixed thresholds: at least 2 self changes or 3 market events in 7 days keeps it; some activity below thresholds means watch; double silence rotates it into a 30-day watch pool, with the archive kept forever. Each verdict's reasoning is expandable on the card and the object's tracking page.
05
TRUST
Everything traces back to evidence.
Each card's Sources and evidence section states the purpose, scope, and limits of its links, with missing scope statements marked explicitly. Link counts do not establish independent confirmation. Verification is a re-check at the source each update, and quiet checks never enter the timeline; the day archive labels each item as saved that day, recovered from historical material, or current information. Saved versions can be revisited at their labeled times; records without a retained version do not claim to reproduce the original display. The update pipeline's health is public on the status page — including its failures.
