Clementine: describe dinner, then adjust the grocery cart
From “what’s for dinner?” to a grocery cart: Clementine uses meal requests, shopping lists and products from the selected store to prepare an order.

Turn a meal idea into a cart
Instacart introduced Clementine on September 9. Describe a meal or upload a shopping list, and it assembles a cart using products from your chosen store. It can also restock past purchases and find offers.
Choose a store, then ask
For a quick pasta dinner, start with a recipe and add its ingredients to your cart. Find Clementine above search on mobile or in the store page’s left navigation on desktop. Review products, quantities and prices before ordering.
The same capability reaches grocers’ own apps
Instacart is also offering related capabilities to retailers through Cart Assistant. Grocers can help customers plan meals and find products within their own websites and apps. The change to watch is a shopping journey that starts with a meal request rather than individual product searches.
Where it is available
The release covers the U.S. and Canada. Access is still rolling out, so some accounts may not have the feature yet.
