CARD · Card record
funes helps coding agents recall past decisions
funes indexes sessions from Claude Code, Codex and other agents locally, with results linked to the original conversation. Optional publishing to a Hugging Face dataset supports access across machines or collaborators.

THE STORY · The original
Read the explanation and its limits.
Search past agent sessions and return to the original conversation when a decision needs context.

Why it is worth understanding
If you switch sessions, coding tools or machines, try retrieving three known decisions and their reasons. Check whether the results lead to the correct original records before relying on the memory.
Conditions and limitations
Local indexing does not mean recalled text stays on the device when sent to a hosted coding model. Check dataset permissions before sharing. We have not installed or tested funes; recall accuracy and time savings remain unverified.
Important additions and corrections
Dates below mark changes to our coverage.
- Addition ·
Clarified data flow: a local index does not keep retrieved content sent to a remote coding model on the device; shared dataset permissions need separate checks.
- Correction ·
Removed unrelated Cursor hosting coverage and rewrote funes’ memory-retrieval use and optional sharing conditions from official material.

1 event, every row traceable.
A card accumulates records as its story develops: new corroborators, market contrasts, material changes at the original — each dated and linked to its archive day.

Sources and evidence · 4 links
Each link has a purpose and scope. Link counts do not establish independent confirmation; direct support applies only to the statements specified below.
Read the September 3 Hugging Face announcement for supported sessions, local indexing and retrieval, source context, optional Hub publishing and sharing boundaries. Retain the existing pinned README and SECURITY evidence in the new review.
Limits: Maintainer descriptions of features and defaults are not an end-to-end privacy audit, retrieval evaluation or efficiency result.
- AIHOT featuredDiscovery or relay
Carries the funes launch story and links back to Hugging Face’s original.
Limits: Establishes same-story coverage and the source link, not independent use or effectiveness.

Documents supported coding agents, session indexing, context retrieval, and dataset sharing.
Limits: Maintainer documentation. Automatic integration varies by agent; retrieval quality and productivity gains were not tested.

Documents local processing by default, opt-in sharing, and trust boundaries for external memory.
