Apple introduces M6 and M5 Ultra: 2nm and quad-die bet on local AI compute

M6 is Apple's first 2-nanometer chip: 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU, a dual 16-core Neural Engine, and up to 170GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, arriving in the new Mac mini. M5 Ultra uses next-generation UltraFusion to form a quad-die architecture for the first time, targeting desktop and AI workloads in the new Mac Studio.

Why it is worth understanding
